Simple Dating Do’s And Don’ts For Men
Thank you for taking the time to read. Love and marriage is much more than a checklist. DO seek counsel from the people you respect.
Dating dos and donts 2014 - Here are the Essential Do’s and Don’ts for Courtship and Dating:
The world wants you to think that your happiness depends on finding the perfect guy — or girl. If you are a believer in Christ, then your joy is found in Him. DO look to the Word of God. Leave this fable at the movie theater. DO view love as a mystery. Love and marriage is much more than a checklist. Getting involved in a relationship — and deciding who you want to spend the rest of your life with — is a HUGE deal. Observe them in different contexts — work, home, leisure — and ask others what they see too.
I think this can be one of the biggest pitfalls. DO go in willing to learn and grow. DO hang out in the right places. Go and get involved where the kind of people you might want to marry are hanging out. At church, ministries, wholesome activities, etc.
DO seek counsel from the people you respect. Thank you, I feel better already. DO walk in the power of purity. If you know a salad will hold you over all night, that's fine, but don't shy away from ordering a burrito the size of a baby if that's what you're craving.
DO work your charm. Fluttering your eyelashes, gazing into your date's eyes at strategic moments -- there's no shame in flirting. DON'T mention your ex. No one wants to be regaled with tales of how awful that guy was -- and you might end up crying, which, let's be honest, is kind of a mood-killer. DON'T bust out those dance moves you last used in '90s.
Somehow, they're even worse now. DO try to get a sense of whether or not you and your date have the same values and opinions on important issues.
DON'T get hung up on those awkward moments when you have nothing to say. It happens to the best of us. DON'T pretend to be someone you're not. Honesty is the the best policy when dating and to quote Ingrid Michaelson , you want someone to take you the way you are.
