Brolly-ography with a one-handed catch. Gene Kelly's title song from Singin' in the Rain Judges' verdict: Ore getting rather emotional, bless him. Len says "superb, foxtrot references, I'm astounded at how good that was". Bruno says "it would make Gene Kelly proud, took the right references but gave it your own character".
Craig has some complaints, the other judges shout him down until he says it was "out-stand-ing". Ore's emotional high score 7: Lots of Neanderthal fun from the bearskin-clad barrister. Craig says "ghastly gawping expressions came into their own for once, loved the energy, routine and hand-spring". Darcey "loved the crazy, cute caveman but could do with more swivel". Bruno says "you hammered it so much, you lost timing but always great to watch". Same as last week. Is Naga saving her skin an impossible mission?
Spy-themed routine, Naga's skin-tight black outfit leaving little to the imagination. Messin' abaht to start, seemingly due to a harness malfunction. Lacks staccato and snap but a floor spin to finish and a definite improvement on last week. Lalo Schifrin's theme from Mission Impossible Judges' verdict: Bruno says "sultry, slinky but lost focus".
Craig says "footwork sloppy but loved the concept". Darcey says she "suited a moody pout". Len says "your best dance yet but you get nervous and there's no need because you're much better than you think you are". Her highest yet but still languishing at the bottom so far. Some spectacular lifts, shapes and side-by-side sections but enough salsa content for those ever-picky judges? Len says "You're a terrific dancer but for me, not enough salsa".
Will points out there were "24 counts of eight" but Len "didn't recognise them. Turn up, keep up and shut up". Bruno says "Hooray for Bollywood, I loved the flavour". From 29 August to 7 September they visited the Faroe Islands. Cirkus Nissesjov who had performances on weekdays for kindergartens, institutions and schools across the country.
On the program was the Veres family from Hungary with bouncing juggling, human doll and rola bola. From Latvia came three young people Natashca, Dimma and Sergei. They had a robot act where a robot is dressed as a Christmas elf which is juggling and doing magic. The two units of the Circus Christmas Fun presented more than shows and were seen by 30, guests in just 4 weeks. With Jess Deleuran presenting ponies and his wife Marianne presenting dogs Circus Mascot is what the English call a dog and pony show.
From to the recurring character in Circus Mascot was the talented clown Gulio. The audience loved Gulio, but after 8 seasons Gulio and Jess and Marianne Deleuran agreed that time had come to introduce the audience to new clowns. It was a good choice. During the show they present a number of fine run-ins. And run-ins, which they themselves have created.
Not just copies of run-ins done by other clowns. Plenty of baggage was brought into the ring, and Lulu pulls around with Alex as was he a pack ass. It is just about to go wrong The wire is now put up somewhat higher, and Daniel, who is already as lad was showed talent on slack wire, now shows his true star talent. Last year Marianne and Andreas Deleuran introduced the audience to an act with goats.
Nice to see this act again and see that it gets better and better every year. The clowns were replaced by Daniel Deleuran in a nice act with aerial straps, a discipline that you rarely see in the circus. Daniel performs it with great elegance and agility. To conclude the act Daniel Deleuran presented the beautiful Knabstrupper Paco.

Then this year's clown Totti Alexis has his first run in where he played the trumpet. The clown was replaced by juggler Eddy Carello, who did devil stick juggling with a guitar and played drums with his juggling balls. A joyful reunion with one of top acts from Circus Dannebrog show. At last, a number of spectators were allowed to hold the sheet.
The last number before the interval was with Totti Alexis who was setting up a table from which dishes apples, bananas, etc. After the interval Eddy Carello came back in the ring, this time in a more traditional act where he juggled with footballs. After a clown run in where Totti Alexis was in combat with a microphone Julie Tchakinova presented her main act: In the recent years we have seen many wheel of death-acts.
Most of them are not too exciting, and the pace is far from what one has experienced with top stars as Allegria Brothers and Crazy Wilson. Those two are the new kings of the wheel of death. The last act in the performance was trick riders from the Richter Troupe of acrobats on horseback. The troupe, at that time headed by Florian Richter, was awarded a golden clown in Monte Carlo a few years ago. They mastered somersaults from horseback to horseback. Including a somersault which I have not seen since the famous Caroli Family: Jumping while taking off from horse number one, passing over the horse number two and landing on horse number three.
Like previous years, the performance is staged by Isabella Enoch in her usual elegant show style with dancers, etc. Duo Sifolini presented the best wheel of dead act we have seen in a Danish circus since Allegria Brothers was with Benneweis in and and in the Tivoli Gardens in That the small circus once again got five stars in Ekstra Bladet a leading Danish tabloid was well deserved and would have pleased the late circus owner Soren Arli, who passed away in January this year.
At last even Martin entered the ring and he and his wife Bettina could jointly welcome the audience. Then super-talented and charming Alexander Arli entered the ring with an umbrella to the tune Singin 'in the Rain, and made impressive acrobatics around a pole which was disguised as a lamppost.
Most Danish circus has today run-in clowns instead of classic musical clowns. But not Arli, who has talents in house: The act ended with music on trombone and trumpet. Last year Martin began the show by doing his makeup as a clown. This year he ended the show by taking off the clown makeup while singing a goodbye song before the grand finale, where all the performers entered the ring and got very well deserved standing ovations.
David Wolf with elegant handstand. Click here to see more photos from the performance Circus Arli closed the season 28 August in Vindinge. The opening was celebrated in a brand new tent, which is slightly larger and higher than the old tent. On the opening day it was 60 years since circus owner Irene Thierry first time entered a circus ring.
She was 4 years old when her father first let her perform with a dance act. Then Irene Thierry welcomed the audience. As by tradition in the small circus everyone in the audience had so say hello to the one sitting on their right side and one on their left side.
Then Irene did her 60 year old debut act: Now, the couple has dropped that act and has instead trained small parrots. There are many traditions in Circus Krone. This year, a panda bear with Irene Thierry inside. Schmarlowski then came back with an act with two large parrots. Unfortunately Schmarlowski had due to health problem to leave Circus Krone in August.
Schmarlovski and his small parrots were a main attraction in this year's performance in Circus Krone. Years back you could see artists in many Danish amusement parks. But that is history. When Toto Chabri is on stage, you will not notice that he is 78 years old and that it is 45 years since he first entered a Danish circus ring. It is owned by a popular Danish actor and comedian Soren Ostergaard and is a combination of a comedy show spoken language Danish and artist performance.
Most Danes loves Soren Ostergaard but foreigners will hardly be able to understand him or his typically Danish jokes. However, there were as mentioned also some real circus artist: The audience was mainly adults — it was not a show for children.
Former years, the backbone of performance was young kids from the No Name institution. The concept has now changed: Besides being an accomplished juggler Zdenek is both a good musician and a good singer. Both things are fully utilized during the performance. Then No Name presented a number of animals: Trained pigs are not what one usually meets in a circus performance.
But Luffe Boegh presented in the beginning of the season two pigs with a curly tails. Critical people may argue that Katja only presented two horses: But it's not always quantity that makes it.
Small is beautiful, at least when it's an act with the grace and charm that not many other than the Schumann family can present. Something you very rarely see in a circus. After another Gulio-run-in the one with the money, which falls into a bowl Zdenek presented his superb juggling act, first with balls and then with five cigar boxes. After the camels time had come for grand finale, lead by a singing Zdenek, and the audience could say thank you after almost two hours of delightful entertainment.
Click here to see some photos from the show. No Name Circus was scheduled to continue their performances to the end of September. Due to economical problems they stopped however about a month before scheduled. It is for the time being unknown is this is the end for the small resident circus. Most performances were given at Jutland campsites where there usually are a lot of German tourists.
Quality wise the show was not on par with what one could experience in the Danish circus. Circus Arena produced a performance for the Kolding Shopping Mall and Circus Krone was sponsored by Dronninglund saving bank on a tour to several cities in North Jutland.
Benny Schumann with young assistants. Click here to see more photos from the performance in the Frederiksberg shopping centre Circus Krone and Circus Mascot had a number of sold Christmas performances. Baldoni's Christmas Circus is mentioned above. Soren Arli was 75 years old. He established Danish Circus Arli in Soren Arli was not out of a circus family. As a young man he was apprenticed to a house painter. However he found the life as a performing artist more interesting and on 30 April he had his debut as an artist at the variety theatre Alhambra at the amusement park Bakken north of Copenhagen.
A couple of years later Soren together with his wife Lotte the couple was married in and celebrated their golden anniversary last year created a comical juggling act called Lott and Arli. Furthermore Soren performed as whiteface clown and Lotte did thought reading. With acts like those Soren and Lotte toured with circuses among those the Danish circuses Moreno and Arena. As many artists Soren Arli had a dream about establishing his own circus. Not the largest circus in the world but a small show with good atmosphere and close contact to the audience.
In his dream came through when Soren and Lotte opened Circus Arli in a tiny 1-pool big top they had made themselves. The staff consisted of Soren, Lotte and their son Martin. The first two seasons was spent in Jutland Mini Zoo in Haustrup.
Since Soren Arli and his circus has toured Zealand with a two pole tent with a seating capacity of people. Until Soren acted himself as ringmaster. In he left this position to his daughter in law Bettina.
However Soren still welcomed the audience at the beginning of the performance and stood just outside the tent after the performance and said goodbye to his audience. He was born in and grew up in Aarhus, where he as a boy worked as a zookeeper in Aarhus Zoo.
